Supervision and Orientation Workshop Report
Session I: 10:00 AM – Supervision & Orientation
A Supervision and Orientation Workshop was organized on 5th March 2025 at the office of the People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR), Varanasi. Participants from Koderma (Jharkhand) and Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh) attended the session.
The session began with a keynote address by Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi, Program Director of the organization. He spoke in depth about the lives, struggles, and philosophies of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Savitribai Phule, emphasizing their relevance to contemporary social justice movements. He encouraged participants to carry their legacies forward by empowering the oppressed with knowledge about their rights and how to access support.

Session II: 2:00 PM – Responsibilities & Follow-Up
The second session began with a review of the first session, followed by detailed discussions with participants from Jharkhand and Sonbhadra regarding:

Ms. Shruti Nagvanshi, Director of the organization, spoke about strengthening implementation. She emphasized the importance of timely execution and the need to continuously improve the quality of work through reflection and evaluation.
Further, the session focused on:

The levels of violence in society

The distinction between torture and organized violence
Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi clarified:

Torture is inflicted by state actors (police, administration, etc.)

Organized violence originates from within families, caste groups, and non-state actors
Participants engaged in a critical discussion on these distinctions. Emphasis was also placed on:

The workshop concluded with a summary and delegation of responsibilities, led by Ms. Chhaya Kumari.
